Terai region of nepal

In Nepal Terai region's meaning is plain (low lying land) . terai region also called Madhes .he lowland plains of the Terai lie at an altitude of between 67 and 300 m (220 and 980 ft). North of the Terai rises the narrow but continuous belt of forest about 8–12 km (5.0–7.5 mi) wide. Terai crossed by himalays  rivers Karnali,yamuna, Ganga, Trishuli ,Narayani. the soil of terai region is very well and fine. Most of the population of Terai's occupation is Agriculture Agriculture is the basis of the economy.Major crops include   rice, wheat, sugarcane, maze, tobacco  Etc.In the eastern districts from Parsa to Jhapa they support agro-based industries: jute factories, sugar mills, rice mills and tobacco factories.

Tourism is the most possibility in terai region.. lumbini is the birth place of Siddhartha Gautam Buddha, yearly many tourist visit . specially from china, india , korea , bhutan's tourist came to visist this region.thus bardiya national park (nepaljung) chitwan National park and birth place of sita janakpur is also tourism area for tourist.
